A partnership such as the one shared by Bare Necessities and Star Clippers Cruises does not develop overnight. Beginning in 1994, we’ve produced 32 successful charters on the Star Clipper, Star Flyer, and Royal Clipper. Our cruises with Star Clippers blend our love of sailing with our desire to experience the world and make new friends without the encumbrance of clothing.
The recently announced 2024 “Sailing the Greek Isles” tour sold within days, a testament to how much our passengers appreciate our bare cruises with Star Clippers and how much we’ve longed to return to the beautiful, sunny islands of Greece. We do not want anyone to miss the opportunity. We reached out to Star Clippers and they have once again proven why they are great travel partners as they have arranged an additional bare charter for Greece in 2024.
“Sailing the Greek Isles II” will have the same custom two-week itinerary and will sail May 11 – 25, 2024 aboard the elegant Star Clipper roundtrip from Athens, Greece. The four-masted Star Clipper is the tallest of the the tall ships, 379 feet long and carries 166 guests, with over 36,000 square feet of sails billowing in the wind. The ship features expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, and a convivial piano lounge. We may dance the night away in the outdoor Tropical Bar and enjoy drinks* included. The crew are looking forward to welcoming us aboard once again.
During our voyage we’ll not only visit the popular Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini, but some that are off the beaten path like Sifnos and Kos, and from Mykonos we can also visit Delos, a UNESCO World Heritage site. For more ancient ruins we’ll visit the island of Rhodes and take a tour of Ephesus from Kusadasi, Turkey. The “Mama Mia” island of Skiathos has easy access to Little Banana nude beach and Skyros, Patmos and Hydra offer quiet charm after the busy popular islands visited.
The Star Clipper will sail to all of these ports using clean wind-energy at every opportunity, and very pure, high-quality low sulfur gas oil for which the company was awarded the International Air Pollution Prevention Certificate. Her sister-ship the Star Flyer was the first ship in the world to receive this accolade.
*French or Italian house wines, house liqueurs, house spirits, cocktail of the day, non-alcoholic cocktails, soda by the glass, draft beer, bottled water, espresso and cappuccino are complimentary for each guest for the duration of the cruise. Premium brands of alcohol, premium wines and champagne are not included.
