CRUISE TICKETS
Approximately 30 days prior to the cruise, Bare Necessities will email your Norwegian booking/reservation number with instructions on how to access your reservation. Guests can begin the check-in process 2 weeks prior to sailing; this is when you will select your arrival time. After you’ve completed your check-in, you can view/print your boarding pass and luggage tags.
If you do not have a computer or smartphone, you may check-in at the cruise port, however this will slow down your embarkation process. Consider asking someone to help you check-in.
Shore excursions are not available for purchase until you have your NCL booking/reservation number. These will be emailed approximately 30 days prior to sailing.
Only certain excursions will be clothing-optional (c/o). Clothing-optional excursions will not be listed on the NCL website. Bare Necessities will provide additional information about the guaranteed c/o excursions with your booking numbers.
Clothing-optional excursions often sell-out prior to sailing. The cruise line understands our preference for c/o offerings and will continually attempt to increase availability. If the excursion is not designated as C/O or “nude”, bathing suits or clothing will be required.

Every year a few unfortunate passengers find themselves in an unavoidable situation forcing them to cancel or disembark early due to an injury or illness. Additionally, if you happen to visit the cruise line’s medical center, having travel insurance could help cover the amount your health insurance doesn’t. For this reason, we highly encourage travel insurance and recommend that all guests do their own research to find a policy that best fits their needs.

DECORUM RULES*
To assure that cruise lines continue to support our charters and that we all enjoy a wonderful, stress-free, clothes-free experience, we ask passengers to please observe the following common-sense guidelines of decorum on board our cruises:
- When the ship is at sea or anchored in a port, passengers can be nude unless announcements have been made to the contrary. When the ship is docked alongside in port, all passengers must be dressed throughout the entire vessel, including balconies, until the ship leaves port and an announcement is made that nudity is again permissible.
- The ship provides a self-serve buffet on the pool deck, which is a clothes-free area. Clothing is required for all meals taken in the dining rooms. Casual attire is fine in all of these venues. Bathrobes are not permitted in the dining room. When in doubt as to what is appropriate attire, simply confirm that breasts, bottoms and genitalia are fully covered by clothing that is not considered to be fetish-wear or lingerie.
- Lingerie, fetish-wear, and excessive genital jewelry are not appropriate at any time.
- Always sit on a towel or some article of clothing when bare bottomed or in a thong or G-string.This is standard nudist etiquette and is to be observed everywhere… your stateroom, on the pool deck, in the buffet area, all venues aboard, and even while on excursions.
- No photographs, videos or electronic images of any person may be taken without the express consent of that individual whether guests are clothed or nude.
- “NO PHOTO ZONES” means no photos! These areas are located around the pool and in dance venues. We will confiscate any photo capturing device if you are found taking them.
Devices designed or adapted to capture, stream, or record images, video, or audio covertly or while disguised as another object are not permitted onboard, whether or not the individual is actively recording. This includes camera-equipped eyewear or “smart glasses,” and any other type of hidden lens. Devices may be held by ship’s security until final disembarkation. Violation is grounds for dismissal as set forth in the terms and conditions.
- Fondling or inappropriate touching of personal body parts or those of someone else, overt sexual activity or any form of solicitation for sexual acts is strictly prohibited.
- Displaying yourself nude in front of other ships in port (including on your balcony) or while port authorities are on board the vessel for clearance is strictly prohibited.
- Dangerous or rude behavior will not be tolerated at any time.
- Passengers must comply with US Federal law regarding the possession or use of illegal substances.
Bare Necessities also complies with the cruise line’s regulations, including the right to dismiss persons from the cruise for abusing alcohol and/or drugs, not obeying all safety rules including our decorum and attire, as well as not complying with the laws of the country we are visiting.
* Failure to comply with any of the decorum and etiquette described in this section will be grounds for dismissal from the cruise. There are no refunds for dismissal and transportation is not provided from the port of dismissal.
Norwegian Policies
As a common courtesy to fellow passengers, please do not reserve deck chairs by placing towels or personal belongings on these chairs.
Norwegian Cruise Lines and Bare Necessities will be enforcing this policy and items will be removed if the chair has been unoccupied for more than forty minutes.
Items will be placed in a bag and left in a designated area on the pool deck. Norwegian cruise lines and Bare Necessities are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Within the Mandara Spa, passengers who have purchased a Thermal Suite pass can take advantage of the private saunas, steam rooms, vitality pools and more. These areas will be co-ed during our charter. Passes are available for purchase 30 days prior to sailing. The estimated price for an 11-day pass is $310.80 per person. Rates are subject to change.
The cruise line allows guests to bring sealed bottles of wine or champagne only on embarkation day of February 15th.
These bottles MUST be in your carry-on or hand-carried into the cruise terminal. Bottles will be checked prior to embarkation and a fee of $15.00 USD for a 750 ml Bottle or $30.00 USD for a 1,500 ml Magnum bottle will be charged to your onboard account. Box wines are not allowed on board. Any other beverages other will be confiscated and disposed of.
Drink packages are available for purchase through Norwegian approximately 30 days prior to sailing.
Alcoholic beverages of any kind purchased in any port of call will be retained at the gangway, stored onboard and held by the cruise line until the end of the voyage. The same applies to alcohol purchased in the cruise line gift shop.
Our charter is smoke-free within the interior of the ship. The designated smoking areas for cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipe smoking and vapor smoking devices are forward port side on deck 13. Smoking is NOT allowed in staterooms/suites or outside on balconies.
Cigar smoking is the only form of smoking permitted in the Humidor Cigar Lounge.
For those requiring an ambulatory accessible stateroom, please call Bare Necessities at 1 800 743 0405 / 512 499 0405.
We will provide details on contacting Norwegian cruise lines to notify them of any special needs including dietary restrictions with your booking numbers. Special needs including use of wheelchair, scooter, oxygen, CPAP, or pregnancy.
Embarkation/debarkation wheelchair assistance is available at the port.
In an emergency, friends and family may contact the ship (fees apply). When calling from the United States: Dial 1.888.627.4477 and from outside the United States: Dial 1.732.335.3280.
Caller will need to select the ship and provide their credit card information. Make sure they have your cabin number as well.
WiFi Internet packages are available for purchase 30 days prior to sailing. The Norwegian Jewel provides onboard laundry service for an additional fee; there are no self-service launderettes.
Packing List
Think casual clothing for those times you need to dress; shorts and t-shirts are perfectly acceptable dining room attire.
Leave the Lingerie or fetish wear at home- this is not an acceptable form of clothing.
When going ashore, loose-fitting natural fabrics are recommended. Bring comfortable shoes including “closed toe” shoes for the gym and certain behind the scenes tours.
Remember to pack a swimsuit; not all excursions are clothing optional.
Leave the beach towels at home! Fresh ones will be available near the gangway as you head ashore and at the Pool Towel Exchange on sea days. In keeping with our nudist etiquette, additional towels are located throughout the ship so you can easily place one down before sitting. Just look for our specially labeled “Towels for your Tush” to help remind you!
Other important items to pack: sunscreen, brimmed hats, sunglasses, reef-walking/beach shoes, bug repellent, any prescription medicine authorized by your physician and your passport.
If you choose to pack a bathrobe, please be aware these are only appropriate when visiting the spa or lounging outside on a chilly evening.
