Featured Ship: The Royal Clipper
The Royal Clipper is a destination all on its own. This stunning five-masted sailing ship will surpass your expectations. She gracefully glides through the water and commands attention at every port of call. With immaculate staterooms that include marble bathrooms and tasteful nautical decor, one feels as if they are in a five-star hotel surrounded by old-world charm.
The 114 staterooms range from cozy interiors to deluxe suites providing you with your own private outdoor verandah. The three-story atrium above the dining room gives a feeling of elegance and adds to the ambiance. In the evening, the musical notes of the piano softly drift down as you savor the chef’s specialties.
One of the things we love most about this ship is the fact that she is small in comparison to other cruise vessels and can anchor offshore, enabling us to visit quaint ports of call others only dream of visiting. After spending the day exploring shoreside, it’s refreshing to be able to return to the ship for some skinny dipping off the water sports platform as well as kayaking the open waters while at anchor.
Another bucket list item to add to your vacation is taking advantage of the photo tender when all the sails are hoisted. Circling the ship, passengers get a view of the Royal Clipper in all her glory, out on the open sea. It’s a sight not to be missed. The ship also offers activities such as climbing to the crow’s nest or just relaxing in the bowsprit net while feeling the ocean spray as the ship cuts through the azure sea.
There is plenty to do aboard this ship; day or night, with ping pong tournaments, nightly entertainment such as a piano sing-along before dinner and local dancers and singers coming aboard to perform; not to mention an opportunity to relax in the Captain Nemo Spa after a long day of exploring. The Royal Clipper is one of our favorite ships; it’s no wonder this charter sells out quickly.
