What better destination to feature this month than the city of love. Venice is full of charm with its Renaissance-inspired architecture, summer sunsets, and evenings spent dining at an intimate trattoria taking in the views of the canal. It’s known as one of the most romantic cities in Europe for a reason. Venice is small in comparison to other European destinations which allows you to explore all she has to offer in just a few days. Whether you choose to wander the streets and traverse the many bridges or partake in a gondola ride; the views are amazing at every turn. The Piazza San Marco and Basilica are in the heart of Venice and a good starting point for exploring the city. Foodies will enjoy visiting the Rialto markets where the freshest food in all of Venice is sold. It’s easy to spend the entire day taking in the sites, from museums such as the Peggy Guggenheim and Doges’ Palace to visiting the surrounding islands, such as Murano for its beautiful glass, Burano known for its lace , and Torcello for its 7th century cathedral. If you are looking to unwind though, take a vaporetto (water taxi) to Lido di Venezia, a barrier island in the Venetian lagoon, from there hop on a bus to Alberoni beach which is designated for nudists. It can be a nice change of pace with its golden sand beaches and clean water; this small stretch of beach surrounded by dunes and forest offers complete relaxation.

We could not think of a better way to start off and end our culinary bare cruise then in Venice. Venetian cuisine is known all around Italy particularly due to its fresh seafood. The Veneto region is also known for its white wine with some of the best vineyards in all of Italy. We will be sailing from Venice aboard the Royal Clipper Adriatic Odyssey cuise June 25- July 9, 2022 and will be able to experience all that Venice has to offer. We’ll take in the breathtaking views as we sail from the Port of San Basilio. Upon our return to this spectacular city, we will overnight to provide our guests the opportunity to explore this city to the fullest without having to carry any luggage through Venice’s narrow streets.
