IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

valid passport is recommended for all passengers.

Bare Necessities assumes no responsibility for advising passengers of documentation requirements other than a valid passport.

It is the responsibility of each guest to identify and obtain all required travel documents and have them available at check-in. Guests can visit Norwegian’s website to determine what other forms of identification will be acceptable.

Non-U.S. citizens should contact the nearest representative embassy or consulate office regarding required documentation.

Any guest without proper documentation (such as photocopies) will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued.

Please note: Citizens who are NOT US Residents (ARC- “Green Card” holders) must enter information into the following secure website at least 72 hours before arrival into the United States: www.cbp.gov/esta

CRUISE TICKETS

Approximately 30 days prior to the cruise, Bare Necessities will email your Norwegian booking/reservation number with instructions on how to check-in online. After you’ve completed your check-in, you can view/print your boarding pass and luggage tags.

If you do not have a computer or smartphone, you may check-in at the cruise port, however this will slow down your embarkation process. Consider asking someone to help you check-in.

SHORE EXCURSIONS

Shore excursions are not available for purchase until you have your NCL booking/reservation number. These will be emailed approximately 30 days prior to sailing.

Only certain excursions will be clothing-optional (c/o). Clothing-optional excursions may not be listed as “nude” on the NCL website. Bare Necessities will provide additional information about the guaranteed c/o excursions with your booking numbers.

Clothing-optional excursions often sell-out prior to sailing. The cruise line understands our preference for c/o offerings and will continually attempt to increase availability. If the excursion is not designated as C/O or “nude”, bathing suits or clothing will be required.

DECORUM RULES*

To assure that cruise lines continue to support our charters and that we all enjoy a wonderful, stress-free, clothes-free experience, we ask passengers to please observe the following common-sense guidelines of decorum on board our cruises:

  • When the ship is at sea or anchored in a port, passengers can be nude unless announcements have been made to the contrary. When the ship is docked alongside in port, all passengers must be dressed throughout the entire vessel, including balconies, until the ship leaves port and an announcement is made that nudity is again permissible.

  • The ship provides a self-serve buffet on the pool deck, which is a clothes-free area. Clothing is required for all meals taken in the dining rooms. Casual attire is fine in all of these venues. Bathrobes are not permitted in the dining room. When in doubt as to what is appropriate attire, simply confirm that breasts, bottoms and genitalia are fully covered by clothing that is not considered to be fetish-wear or lingerie.

  • Lingerie, fetish-wear, and excessive genital jewelry are not appropriate at any time.

  • Always sit on a towel or some article of clothing when bare bottomed or in a thong or G-string.This is standard nudist etiquette and is to be observed everywhere… your stateroom, on the pool deck, in the buffet area, all venues aboard, and even while on excursions.

  • No photographs, videos or electronic images of any person may be taken without the express consent of that individual whether guests are clothed or nude.

  • “NO PHOTO ZONES” means no photos! These areas are located around the pool and in dance venues. We will confiscate any photo capturing device if you are found taking them.

  • Fondling or inappropriate touching of personal body parts or those of someone else, overt sexual activity or any form of solicitation for sexual acts is strictly prohibited.

  • Displaying yourself nude in front of other ships in port (including on your balcony) or while port authorities are on board the vessel for clearance is strictly prohibited.

  • Dangerous or rude behavior will not be tolerated at any time.

  • Passengers must comply with US Federal law regarding the possession or use of illegal substances.

Bare Necessities also complies with the cruise line’s regulations, including the right to dismiss persons from the cruise for abusing alcohol and/or drugs, not obeying all safety rules including our decorum and attire, as well as not complying with the laws of the country we are visiting.

* Failure to comply with any of the decorum and etiquette described in this section will be grounds for dismissal from the cruise. There are no refunds for dismissal and transportation is not provided from the port of dismissal.

Norwegian Policies

“SHARE THE CHAIR” (DECK CHAIR POLICY)

As a common courtesy to fellow passengers, please do not reserve deck chairs by placing towels or personal belongings on these chairs.

Norwegian Cruise Lines and Bare Necessities will be enforcing this policy and items will be removed if the chair has been unoccupied for more than forty minutes.

Items will be placed in a bag and left in a designated area on the pool deck. Norwegian cruise lines and Bare Necessities are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Within the Mandara Spa, passengers who have purchased a Thermal Suite pass can take advantage of the private saunas, steam rooms, vitality pools and more. Box wines are not allowed on board. Any other beverages other will be confiscated and disposed of.

Drink packages are available for purchase through Norwegian approximately 30 days prior to sailing. Details on these packages can be found online at https://www.ncl.com/onboard-packages/beverage-packages.

Packing List

WHAT TO PACK

Think casual clothing for those times you need to dress; shorts and t-shirts are perfectly acceptable dining room attire.

Leave the Lingerie or fetish wear at home- this is not an acceptable form of clothing.

When going ashore, loose-fitting natural fabrics are recommended. Bring comfortable shoes including “closed toe” shoes for the gym and certain behind the scenes tours.

Remember to pack a swimsuit; not all excursions are clothing optional.

No need to pack a beach towel- fresh ones will be in your stateroom to take when going ashore. Towels will also be placed throughout the ship so passengers can easily follow our rule on nudist etiquette by always placing a towel down before sitting.

Other important items to pack: sunscreen, brimmed hats, sunglasses, reef-walking/beach shoes, bug repellent, any prescription medicine authorized by your physician and your passport.

If you choose to pack a bathrobe, please be aware these are only appropriate when visiting the spa or lounging outside on a chilly evening.
